Technical Illustrator: Road Safety Authority (2011)

Design of instructional and illustrative pictures for a range of four instructional driving books for the Road Safety Authority, published nationally in March 2012. Tools used: Photoshop, Illustrator.

Development of ECDL training software. The training materials consist of animations and interactive simulations for the learner. Tools used: Flash, Authorware, Sim-maker (in-house development tool).

Education

MSc. in Applied eLearning (Dublin Institute of Technology, 2011-2013)

During this course I studied learning theories, instructional design, pedegogy, virtual communities, trends in elearning, professional and personal development and research methods. My MSc. research project and paper was on cognitive learning and motivation through interactive and multimedia enhanced e-books developed with iBook Author.

Hetac level 8 Dip., in Community Arts, Participation and Development: Creative Approaches to Development Education (Crawford College of Art and Design – Mayfield Community Arts, 2009-2010)

During this course I studied methods and techniques of working with groups creatively to express or deliver ideas. The coursework was centered around strengthening voices and collaborative learning in disadvantaged communities through art and creative methods.

BA (hons), in Multimedia (Cork Institute of Technology, 2003-2007)

Among the areas studied throughout this multidisciplinary course were graphic design, web design, front end web development, film-editing, 3D environments and media and culture. 3rd year was spent on erasmus in Darmstadt University in Germany.

BA (hons), in English (major) and Psychology (minor) (University College Cork, 2000-2003)

During this course I studied literary criticism of poetry, novels and plays from the old English era through 20th Century literature. Among the areas I  studied in Psychology were the learning theories of developmental psychology,  psychodynamic theorists and social psychology.

Extracurricular activities:

In my spare time I enjoy reading. I also like to  sketch and paint. I attend a weekly dressmaking class and enjoy designing and making clothes.
